This fall Hilary is directing The Great Unknown (book by William Hauptman, music and lyrics by Jim Wann) in the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) (opening 10/7). Recently, she assistant directed Collected Stories for Lynne Meadow, Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC), at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. This was her fifth MTC Directing Fellowship. Other recent work includes Shirley Valentine at the Millbrook Playhouse, and Whatever Man in NYMF 2009. Hilary is a Drama Desk nominee for Outstanding Director of a Play (Works Productions' Moby Dick), which was also nominated for Outstanding Play and Featured Actor. Her Love Jerry (NYMF 2008) won four NYMF Best of Fest awards and two honorable mentions including Excellence in Direction, and three Talkin’ Broadway 2008 Summer Theatre Festival Citations, including Outstanding New Musical. She is a Drama League Fellow, and has received five MTC Directing Fellowships assistant directing for Lynne Meadow (Collected Stories, Moonlight and Magnolias, The American Pilot, Our Leading Lady) and Mark Brokaw (Reckless). Also, on Broadway, Hilary assisted Richard Jones (Titanic), David Henry Hwang (Flower Drum Song), and Robert Falls (Aida). Member SDC and League of Professional Theatre Women. |
